Pet Travel Crates

When your pet travels, their crate becomes their home away from home.

At All Care Pet Transport, we sell and hire Australian-made PP Pet Carriers designed specifically for the safe and comfortable transportation of pets by air.

Built to meet current airline travel requirements, these sturdy travel crates provide the security, ventilation and comfort your pet needs throughout their journey.

Whether you’re travelling within Australia or overseas, our airline-compliant pet crates give you confidence that your pet is travelling in a safe, secure and approved travel environment.

What Makes Our Crates Airline Compliant?

Airlines have specific requirements for pet travel crates to help ensure animals travel safely and comfortably. These guidelines are established by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and are recognised by airlines around the world.

Our PP Pet Carriers are designed with these requirements in mind, incorporating features that promote safety, security and comfort throughout your pet’s journey. Below are some of the key features that contribute to airline compliance.

Secure Bolt Fasteners

Airline regulations require travel crates to be secured with bolts to prevent separation during transit. Our crates feature durable hard-plastic fasteners and solid steel bolts for added strength and security.

Spring-Loaded Door Latch

A secure, spring-loaded door latch is required for airline travel to help ensure the crate remains safely closed during transit. Our crates feature a spring-loaded locking mechanism for added security and peace of mind.

Cable Tie Security Points

For added security during air travel, airlines may require the crate door to be secured with cable ties before departure. Our crates include four dedicated cable tie points, making it easy to secure the door in line with airline travel requirements.

Excellent Ventilation

To comply with airline requirements, ventilation openings must be no larger than 19cm x 19cm for cats and 2.5cm x 2.5cm for dogs. These openings allow fresh air to circulate throughout the crate while maintaining a safe and secure travel environment.

Our crates provide excellent airflow to help keep your pet comfortable throughout their journey.

Construction Material

Airline requirements specify that pet travel crates must be constructed from a rigid plastic material and be in good condition before travel. Our crates are manufactured from durable, high-quality plastic to provide strength, security and peace of mind throughout your pet’s journey.

Water Bowl and Refill Port

A securely attached water bowl is required for airline pet travel to help keep your pet hydrated throughout the journey. Our crates include an internal water bowl with external refill access for added convenience and safety.

Secure Metal Door

A strong and secure door is an important requirement for airline pet travel. Our crates feature a durable metal mesh door that provides security while maintaining visibility and ventilation for your pet throughout their journey.

Comfort Options for Your Pet

A comfortable pet is often a calmer traveller.

Deluxe Vet Bed Stay-Dry Fleece

For added comfort during travel, we recommend including Vet Bed Stay-Dry Fleece in your pet’s crate. This premium English-made bedding is crafted from high-quality 100% polyester fleece and is widely used throughout the pet care industry for its comfort and practicality.

Designed to wick moisture away from the surface, Vet Bed helps keep pets dry, warm and comfortable throughout their journey. Its soft, cushioned texture creates a familiar resting space inside the crate, helping your pet feel secure while travelling by air.

Benefits include:

  • Soft and comfortable surface
  • Wicks away any urine/liquid from the top of the bedding keeping animals dry and warm
  • Fast drying
  • Non-allergenic
  • Non-toxic
  • Non-irritant
  • Flame retardant
  • Resistant to staining
  • Helps prevent pressure sores
  • Machine washable
  • Non-slip rubber backing

What Makes a Crate Non-Compliant?

While many pet crates look suitable for travel, not all are approved for air transport. Airlines follow IATA guidelines to help ensure pets travel safely and comfortably, and crates must meet specific requirements before they can be accepted for a flight.

If a crate does not meet these requirements, the airline may require changes to be made or a compliant replacement crate to be sourced before travel. Understanding the common reasons crates are deemed non-compliant can help avoid unnecessary stress and delays on travel day.

Crates That Are Not Compliant for Air Travel

Airlines have strict requirements for pet travel crates to help ensure the safety and welfare of travelling pets.Carriers that do not meet these requirements may not be accepted for transport.

The following types of carriers are considered non-compliant for air travel:

✗ Collapsible or foldable crates

✗ Soft-sided pet carriers

✗ Crates secured using plastic clips or twist-lock fasteners only

✗ Carriers fitted with wheels

✗ Top-loading crates

✗ Wire-only cages or carriers with wire mesh walls

✗ Crates with damaged, cracked or weakened panels

✗ Carriers with sharp edges, protruding components or fittings that could injure handlers or damage aircraft equipment

Crates with ventilation holes larger than 19cm x 19cm for cats and 2.5cm x 2.5cm for dogs are not airline approved

Not Airline Compliant

Crates with top openings and without a spring-loaded door are not airline approved.
